The Georgian Cowl

I LOVE mosaic crochet!  I first learned how to do it a few years ago from designer Tatsiana of Lilla Bjorn.  I have been in love with it since.  I have so many drafts ideas in my sketch books it has gotten to the point that I do not know which one to start with.  Thank goodness for the practicalities of life that intervene and help us get down to business.  My local independent yarn shop wanted me to teach Learn to Mosaic Crochet.  Well that settled it, I had to get one of those sketch ideas into the real world. The Georgian Cowl was born while sitting on at the side of Georgian Bay enjoying the peace and quiet of the water and the laughter of my children playing in the waves.  Since it was created while sitting next to the Bay it needed to have a nautical, blue and white, theme.

I think one of the main reasons I love mosaic crochet so much, other than it looks gorgeous, is that it is actually quite easy.  No fancy stitches to learn, just plain old, ch, sc and dc.  It truly is amazing what you can do with simple stitches.  Have you ever worked a mosaic crochet project before?  What did you think?

Well, I loved the concept pattern so much I decided to endulge a little bit when I chose my yarn.  The project only needs two skeins, so indulging wasn’t too risky.  Much like my Fallsview Crochet Cowl I chose to use the buttery soft and downright magnificent Illimani Royal I yarn.  It never disappoints and this project is no exception. Why not indulge a little, after all, you are totally worth it.

Use the full free pattern below, or if you haven’t done mosaic crochet before, or just like lots of pictures with extra explanation to go with the pattern I have an expanded printable pattern available for purchase here.

So lets look at what you need to get started
